[2024/01/19 15:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: with that said, as I recall it, you are both slightly injured and face a badly damaged zombie, while humans surround you in a steamy cave, and the priestess you met died a rather brutal death, spawning a creature that fled.

[2024/01/19 15:22] Alicia Frakture: Since this Shambler was closer to Skamos, she is going to use the ring of finger guns on teh shambler

[2024/01/19 15:28] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: eeep
[2024/01/19 15:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: Skamos points at the zombie and PEW drops it with a bolt of energy. The ring has one charge remaining. Atilla shoots but fires wide, the arrows whirring into darkness and clattering against stone columns.
[2024/01/19 15:30] Alicia Frakture: Skamos motions to Atilla to rejoin her, pointing in the darkness to the hole in the wall they came through
[2024/01/19 15:31] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Atilla regroups with Skamos, getting ready to back off this whole fight. Not a single arrow has landed this entire skirmish, apparently the enemy is wind-warded or something
[2024/01/19 15:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: A man shouts out "Damn! They're flanking!" and you hear rocks clatter as they scurry aside. "Where's that damn drone?" shouts the other, then he fires off two arrows. One at Skamos, goes wide, the other a decidedly lucky shot that finds Attilla. A slight wound as the arrow -thunks- in!
[2024/01/19 15:33] Alicia Frakture: She whispers to Atilla."We gotta run. We'll get the arrow out later!" as she points to the opening again
[2024/01/19 15:33] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: He hisses quietly, gesturing for Skamos to get out first, covering her rear
[2024/01/19 15:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: You can hear the other humans blundering about to one side, evidently still after the creature that killed the priestess. The one who seems to be in charge shouts out "Nix that damn thing. Back here, don't let them get away!"
[2024/01/19 15:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: Time to flee?

[2024/01/19 15:36] Alicia Frakture: Casting shield over us to cover our escape
[2024/01/19 15:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: You make for the fissure you came by. To one side, the confused shouts of the humans after the small creature. Behind you, a shout of "There they are! They're making a break for it!" And two arrows hiss through the darkness behind you... it's not Attillas' day! An arrow smacks into her back, rather more painfully than the first one. However, you hear something -else- hissing... not arrows... not steam... and it's getting louder.

[2024/01/19 15:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: Only if it grew to a huge size in an insanely short time.

[2024/01/19 15:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: From behind, closing fast. You're still just getting to the hole.

[2024/01/19 15:40] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Atilla's going with Skamous at best possible speed

[2024/01/19 15:43] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: and Atilla is hanging onto her arm for dear life
[2024/01/19 15:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay... Skamos pauses only to cast a spell, and gains +2 bonus to defence and moves faster. Meanwhile, another arrow hisses in your direction, again Attilla gets stuck. (Ouch... that one hit hard. Sorry!) The human who seems to be in charge shouts out "Stop that! You'll hit the drone!"
[2024/01/19 15:44] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Atilla holds onto Skamos with one hand, and uses the other to twiddle and activate his Ring of Multiplication so that at least half those arrows stop hitting him
[2024/01/19 15:45] Alicia Frakture: Are we through the hole?
[2024/01/19 15:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: The hissing is coming louder - faster - and, you're not able to place exactly -where-, other than "behind"... but on the ground? the walls? the ceiling? It seems it doesn't quite move how you'd expect.

[2024/01/19 15:46] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: we've been trying to get through the hole for like two actions now, why is it failing?
[2024/01/19 15:46] Sonja Bikergrrl: you had to -get- there... it wasn't right behind you

[2024/01/19 15:47] Alicia Frakture: Skamos doesn't think that but is thinking more of going fast with him.
[2024/01/19 15:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: okay, into the small cave... you recall the fissure beyond is rather tight, but, I doubt that's going to stop you right now. A huge body slams into the wall behind you and there's a loud SNARL and claws start scrabbling, literally tearing the rock apart to widen the hole. You glimpse what seems to be a head with a huge mouth full of equally huge teeth...

[2024/01/19 15:51] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: i got an 8, Skamous got double that
[2024/01/19 15:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: Skamos dives through and is out the other other side in record time. Attilla follows through, despite looking like a pin cushion and crawls quickly after, the arrows yanking and catching as you go. It's quite painful, but, no time to think of that - another snarl and a huge body slams into a rock face, and more desperate scrabbling. A faint human voice shouts out,"Fuck! I think they got away!"
[2024/01/19 15:51] Alicia Frakture: Skamos looks at him."Tell me the truth.. Do you think we're moving too fast?"
[2024/01/19 15:54] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "not fast enough!" He keeps moving, trying to get away from the whole in the rock before the 'drone' tears apart the rock wall. "Back to darkness and cover, then chat."
[2024/01/19 15:55] Alicia Frakture: Skamos nods and pulls / carries him as fast as the spell lasts.
[2024/01/19 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's quite a distance of rock... but in fairness you have no idea how big of a gap it needs. Probably not a good idea to wait and see.
[2024/01/19 15:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: The spell lasts long enough to get a fair distance away; you hear some humans out looking here and there but they're easily avoided.
[2024/01/19 15:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: Now what?
[2024/01/19 15:58] Alicia Frakture: Skamos looks at Atilla, we go back, we report, this is too big to send a letter and I need stuff from my lab if we're going back
[2024/01/19 15:59] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Agreed, and I need to get these arrows pulled out too."
[2024/01/19 15:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: Back "home" then?
[2024/01/19 16:00] Alicia Frakture: Yes

[2024/01/19 16:01] Sonja Bikergrrl: Luckily the journey is uneventful, and you're back quickly... the humans and whatever they have are behind you, a long way back.
[2024/01/19 16:01] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: they can have fun with the pit traps and alchemy sprayer traps guarding Skamous's abode
[2024/01/19 16:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: for now, inside and onto Skamos's kitchen table.... she does have the medicine skill, right?

[2024/01/19 16:04] Alicia Frakture: No she was going to take him for heals, report in and then do the home thing
[2024/01/19 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: To the head priestess?
[2024/01/19 16:04] Alicia Frakture: /me nods
[2024/01/19 16:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: The priestess doesn't seem inclined to keep you waiting TOO long... it's within a few minutes that you are before her, but she looks Attilla up and down with a sneer. "Why are you stuck full of arrows? What did you find?"
[2024/01/19 16:06] Alicia Frakture: First, did you get the letter?
[2024/01/19 16:06] Alicia Frakture: This way we know where to start from
[2024/01/19 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: The priestess doesn't affect to have heard, but a certain twitch and snort of ill temper hints that she very well did hear.
[2024/01/19 16:10] Alicia Frakture: Okay, we went back to do more investigating when we came across one of the priestesses. Want to say her name was kitarl, Catra anyway she was injured and she died because this gross pink thing exploded from her chest and it took off before we could grab it. humans shot at us and we ran just as something big tried to eat us
[2024/01/19 16:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: The priestess looks at Skamos as if Skamos just went mad, then, looks at Attilla
[2024/01/19 16:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "The humans referred to their monster as a 'drone'," Atilla adds. "They also deployed a pair of zombies."
[2024/01/19 16:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "We encountered all of this attempting to find an alternate path into the human's encampment through a partially collapsed tunnel system."
[2024/01/19 16:12] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's a thoughtful pause. "So, you still learnt nothing... but they dared shoot arrows at drow."
[2024/01/19 16:12] Alicia Frakture: And send some big toothy thing after us with great gnashing teeth
[2024/01/19 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: "And our priestess Catra died," muses the priestess. "She's been missing for many cycles now.
[2024/01/19 16:14] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "The humans also seemed to be aware of the... salamander-like creature that had invaded Catra's chest. They were trying to hunt it, splitting their forces while shooting at us."
[2024/01/19 16:15] Sonja Bikergrrl: "We should act fast. Take six warriors, go, see to it that the surface dwellers learn not to shoot at drow."
[2024/01/19 16:17] Alicia Frakture: Um before we do that I need to grab some things from my lab and can we get Atilla de-arrowed and healed?
[2024/01/19 16:17] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Atilla salutes, doing his best not to wince at the pain of the arrowheads.
[2024/01/19 16:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: The priestess glances at Skamos with an irritated look. "You have one turn of the hourglass. See an acolyte on the way out. Don't let me delay you."
[2024/01/19 16:18] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Atilla heads directly to the acolyte in that case
[2024/01/19 16:19] Alicia Frakture: Skamos goes to the lab for toys. >:)
[2024/01/19 16:19] Alicia Frakture: Skamos goes to her lab and begins looking for toys, like what was discussed
[2024/01/19 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: The acolyte heals Attilla - not quite fully, despite multiple spells of the rare Cure Light Wounds being cast. Still, the arrows are extracted, wounds are healed, somewhat
[2024/01/19 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Meanwhile, six drow warriors assemble, ready to head out. Your arrows are replenished.
[2024/01/19 16:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Atilla thanks the acolyte profusely for their powerful magic, and moves to link up with the warriors.
[2024/01/19 16:23] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Ambush protocol seems best. They attacked us first and need to be taught the folly of assaulting a superior nation."
[2024/01/19 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: The warriors are a grim, and somewhat aloof bunch, although, that's the nature of drow. "How many of them, what we facing?"
[2024/01/19 16:25] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (What were the numbers their camp seemed able to support? )
[2024/01/19 16:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: Hard to say, you didn't see the entire base... but you saw six on the wall. Triple that for a full days' cover gives you 18... plus leadership... probably thirty or so, at least.
[2024/01/19 16:29] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: He describes the number and approximate size of the buildings in their camp as they were able to see, and the minimum count of observed guards from their trek into camp. "Many, if not all, have the tokens of their surfacer god. They have been seen to deploy both shambling zombies as a pawn of battle, and a larger beast known as a drone," which he proceeds to describe the approximate dimensions of. "We might plan for harrassment tactics to bait out their other options."
[2024/01/19 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: The warriors don't seem impressed at the humans' forces. "We'll soon feed them to the minions of Lolth. I don't know why we tolerated them as it is."
[2024/01/19 16:31] Alicia Frakture: Skamos comes from her lab with a few bottles of liquid and some strange devices." Keep an eye out they already think they can run rampant over the city. So they might have something we are unaware of.
[2024/01/19 16:32] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Supposedly they have some great weapon. Perhaps their 'drone'. We've only seen the one, but I'll keep watch for more of them."
[2024/01/19 16:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: and on that note, slightly early, I'll call tonights' cliffhanger... I do need to prep -something- for a large scale battle ;)
[2024/01/19 16:33] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: yeah, it's easily to accidentaly have eight tenths of the field be NPCs
[2024/01/19 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: yep
[2024/01/19 16:33] Sonja Bikergrrl: I want to make sure the battle goes with a degree of coherence and intelligence
[2024/01/19 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: although, pretty sure of what'll go down

[2024/01/19 16:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: plus, you get a chance to figure your own plan of attack up
[2024/01/19 16:39] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: my vote on plan of attack is basically launch a bunch of attacks from stealth, get a few cheap kills, and then fade away into the shadows and repeating the process an hour later
